Sentinel Logo
This is one of the most challenging projects we have done in Gimmicklab. The guys from Incas Barcelona, whom we have worked for since 1999, wanted to launch a clothing line inspired in north american indian tribes.
After gathering a lot of information we decided that the style we liked most is the one from Susan A. Point which 100% influenced the logo and the print illustrations for the t-shirts.
The concept for the logo is based on the circle of life explained in the Coast Salish mithology in British Columbia, but influenced by the Ying-Yang symbol. The left shape is a Thunderbird which represents the bird that surveils all the life on earth as the shape on the left. In the middle there is the "way" of the circle of life from earth to the moon. All surveilled by the Thunderbirds.
Colors and fonts are carrying a lot of meaning as well, such as red, an earth color in several tonalities that works on the concept of day and night, or sun and moon.
